Co-creation takes courage

There is an inherent truth weaved in any creative process: “What wants to be created through us is not necessarily what (we think) we want to create.”

This subtle but crucial distinction takes time to process and digest because it asks of us to release all control and simply become the vessel through which the creation process takes place. We become an active part of the process, yet in a passively expressed way.

Surrendering to and allowing what wants to be ‘birthed’ through you to be created is also healing both for the self and for the world.

This is ultimately the art of surrendering and co-creating with the larger universe.

Nature is the ultimate and most tangible example of the creative process. A flower does not think its way towards blooming. It just blooms.

As part of nature, we,-humans-, need to also allow this process to take place naturally and effortlessly. Not from us but rather through us. And that takes courage. Consistency, intention and the ‘right’ circumstances however, are also welcome -and required- in the creative process.

Surrendering to the universal process of creation is simple to intellectually understand but not easy to apply in practice.

The ‘problem’ for human beings lies in our hyperactive and analytical brains which rush in to control and intellectually direct the creative process, often not even realizing that they essentially hinder it or even stop its unfolding before it can even begins.

(I realize I am struggling with this exact issue, as I am writing this text.)

Me, coming from an educational background of structured and analytical thinking, I find surrendering to this creative process particularly challenging and simultaneously fascinating and exciting. And that is the beauty of it.

The key, I’ve come to realize, to feeling fulfilled and productive through this process, is to find and apply the fine balance (for you) between structure and allowing (surrendering). And that takes, time, a lot of trial and error, patience, self love and compassion.

Merging our free-will with creation (i.e., co-creation) is ultimately a way back home- back to the core and authentic self we’ve perhaps forgotten or left aside long ago. And it is from this place where miracles become possible.

Hey, there!

I am Eleni and I’m here to share with you my thoughts and insights.

My intention is to express myself openly and freely and get closer and closer to my own truth. My hope is this will also help you better understand yourself.

Although we all have a unique story, we’re also similar in many ways.
