Going back is NOT an option

Change is inevitable and yet, (consciously) choosing change is not always easy.

You see, the familiar is (learned) safety for the subconscious mind and it will not easily give up the ‘fight’ for comfort (i.e., avoiding change at any cost).

So, no matter how determined to move forward, don’t make the mistake to underestimate the habitual ‘self’. Expect it to ‘throw a fit’ at any given chance through feeding you with doubt, shame and/or nostalgic memories.

Don’t be scared of it either. Simply acknowledge it, name it and keep choosing ‘the new’. Treat it as a stubborn two year old that wants candy before dinner. You can have compassion for its request and still set your boundaries and stick to them.

Yes, staying where you are is always easier, even when where you are is no longer fulfilling.

But remember! You are strong, capable and deserving to fulfill your dreams and live the life YOU choose. So, keep choosing your ‘new’ self every time.

Don’t let your habitual mind take over and stop you from your dreams and goals. Instead learn to see it and use it as fuel that will propel you forward. Afterall you (consiously) know what you want and what’s best for you.

Going back in life is NOT an option. So keep moving forward. One step at a time.

Although we all have a unique story, we’re also similar in many ways.
